Google Calendar supports Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams for online meetings. If Zoom or Microsoft Teams are not available when creating a new calendar event, install the corresponding Google Workspace add-ons by following the steps below.
Step 1: Open Google Calendar
Open the Google Apps launcher and select Calendar.
Step 2: Open the Google Workspace Marketplace
Click the Settings icon (⚙️) in the upper-right corner of Google Calendar.
From the menu, select Get add-ons.
Step 3: Install the Zoom Add-on
In the Marketplace search bar, type:
Zoom for Google Workspace
Select the application published by Zoom Video Communications, then click Install.
Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize the add-on.
Step 4: Verify the Zoom Installation
Once the installation is complete, the Zoom icon will appear in the right-hand sidebar of Google Calendar.
This confirms that the add-on has been installed successfully.
Step 5: Install the Microsoft Teams Add-on
Return to the Google Workspace Marketplace.
Search for:
Microsoft Teams Meeting
Select the application published by Microsoft Corporation, then click Install.
Complete the authorization process.
Step 6: Verify the Microsoft Teams Installation
After installation, the Microsoft Teams icon will appear in the right-hand sidebar.
The add-on is now ready to use.
Step 7: Create Meetings with Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams
Create a new event in Google Calendar.
Click the Video conferencing drop-down menu.
You can now choose one of the available conferencing platforms:
Google Meet
Zoom Meeting
Microsoft Teams Meeting
Select your preferred platform and save the event.
The meeting link will be automatically generated and included in the invitation sent to all participants.
Notes
The Zoom and Microsoft Teams add-ons only need to be installed once for each Google account.
After installation, both services will remain available whenever you create a new Google Calendar event.
